NEW PRODUCT FLASH: BHM Glazing Systems

Wausau Window and Wall Systems has introduced its Blast Hazard Mitigation (BHM) Series of standard operable windows, fixed window wall, and curtainwall products.

Both the 2250i-BHM factory-glazed windows and 8000-BHM unitized curtainwall systems are designed for compliance with GSA ISC Security Design Criteria and Department of Defense UFC 4-010-01 requirements.

The BHM SuperWall curtainwall product is available in several frame depths including cladding for steel tubes, which may be necessary to ensure structural performance in blast mitigating designs.

Wausau's BHM Series includes standard operable windows, fixed window wall, and curtainwall products.
Wausau's BHM curtainwall products can be paired with exterior sun shades and interior light shelves.

All BHM Series products accept a variety of security glazing types and may be specified with a thermal barrier, recycled aluminum framing, and a choice of more than 30,000 color finishes.

The 2250i-BHM windows are available with either a 2.5” or 4.5” frame depth in fixed, project-out awning, and project-out casement units. The windows meet blast performance exceeding 4 psi peak pressure, 28 psi-msec impulse. Factory glazed, they are fabricated with an integrally extruded anchor leg and use mechanically secured heavy duty glazing beads. The windows are AAMA AW-60 rated, meeting industry testing standards for air infiltration, water and condensation resistance, structural integrity, and thermal performance.

The 8000-BHM curtainwall can be paired with exterior sun shades and interior light shelves. Its interlocking frame design accommodates seismic, live load, and thermal building movements, and accepts up to .75” total vertical movement. Structural silicone glazing and sealing are completed in a controlled, factory environment to ensure the desired performance. Shipped in pre-assembled units for ease and speed during installation, the 8000-BHM unitized curtainwall systems are designed for blast performance exceeding 10 psi peak pressure, 89 psi-msec impulse.

The BHM SuperWall system meets blast performance up to 33 psi peak pressure, 81 psi-msec impulse. BHM zero-sightline vents and terrace doors also are available to complement this versatile, captured, or vertical structural glazed system. Its screw-spline construction in multiple frame depths presents a uniform, three-inch exterior sightline. Like the 8000-BHM unitized curtainwall, SuperWall also can be requested with exterior sun shades and interior light shelves for enhanced solar control.
