Online Registration Now Open for The TFM Show

Last week, online attendee registration opened for The Total Facility Management Show and CONSTRUCT2010. This co-located event for facility management professionals provides an education agenda, an array of commercial, institutional, and industrial building specific programs and special events, and is host to the Construction Specification Institute’s (CSI) Annual Convention. The event is geared to meet the education, networking, and informational needs of facilities managers, architects, designers, specifiers, engineers, building owners, and professionals who design, build, operate, and renovate.

The four-day education schedule, with over 75 sessions, offers relevant, interactive, expert-led instructive programs and on-floor “how-to” training sessions focusing on building and design, business, leadership, processes, standards, stewardship, and facility management. Most courses provide continuing education credits for CSI CEUs, AIA/LUs, SDs, and HSWs. The education schedule allows plenty of time to explore the exhibit floor with non-conflicting time to attend the sessions. Floor education is provided free of charge to attendees in the Education Pavilion during Exhibit Hall hours.

In the Exhibit Hall, attendees will have the opportunity to explore hundreds of relevant products and problem solving solutions as well as the latest products in the New Product Pavilion and sustainable products in the Green Pavilion. Participants can experience the value of networking and relationship building as a broad spectrum of industry professionals convene in one place. A special events line-up includes a General Session that focuses on innovation with keynote speaker, Bjarke Ingels, award-winning architect and author, a Welcome Reception, and a strong CSI agenda (including Certification Exams, association annual meeting, Honors and Awards Gala and Fellowship events). Technical Tours, a Spouse/Guest program, Student Competition, and programs specifically for the Emerging Professional are offered.

For those registering before April 8, 2010, Exhibit Hall admission is free and discounted education packages are available. Those registering as CSI Members receive the association discount. The event will take place May 11-14, 2010 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in conjunction with the 54th CSI Annual Convention. Discounted hotel and travel are available through the official travel provider.

Keynote For The TFM Show Announced

CONSTRUCT2010, in conjunction with the 54th CSI Annual Convention and co-located with The TFM Show, has announced its Keynote Speaker for the May 11-14, 2010 event at the Pennsylvania Convention Center (PACC), Philadelphia, PA. World renowned, award winning, Danish architect/author Bjarke Ingels will chronicle how his architecture evolves from the collision of political, economical, social as well as unnamed and unforeseen interests.

The presentation, “YES is More”, will highlight the General Session, Wednesday, May 12th at 10:00am in the Grand Ballroom of the PACC.

Ingels started Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) in 2005 after co-founding PLOT Architects in 2001 and working at OMA in Rotterdam. Through a series of award-winning design projects and buildings, he has created an international reputation as a member of a new generation of architects that combine shrewd analysis, playful experimentation, social responsibility, and humor.

Alongside his architectural practice, Ingels has been active as a Visiting Professor at Rice University’s School of Architecture and most recently at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. He currently holds a guest lecturer position at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.

“Bjarke’s architectural style is awe inspiring and mind stretching,” notes Jayne Dalton, show manager. “His projects are truly amazing feats of imagination and talent.” He spoke at the 2009 TED Conference, appears on YouTube, and his firm’s Web site offers details of his buildings that not only look like nature, they act like nature: blocking the wind, collecting solar energy, and creating stunning views.

Admission to the General Session and Bjarke’s presentation is included with attendee registration which opens online in mid-January. Free Exhibit Hall admission and discounted Education Packages are available through April 8, 2010.

CONSTRUCT2010, co-located with The TFM Show, are both owned and produced by Hanley Wood. From May 11-14, 2010, facility managers, architects, engineers, contractors, specifiers, and other key professionals will be attending for accredited education and to find new products, innovative solutions, and the latest in technology for the institutional, industrial, and commercial building industry.

Exhibitor Deadline Approaching For The TFM Show and CONSTRUCT2009

These two trade show events, which will be co-located in Indianapolis, IN next June, are building on their 2008 successes to be the foremost commercial building industry event. Exhibitors are currently securing space for their participation in the event that will be held side-by-side on one exhibit hall floor at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Show management has issued a reminder that the deadline for initial exhibit space reservations is Thursday, August 21st

Dallas, TX-based Hanley Wood acquired The TFM Show from Group C Media, Inc. (parent company of Today’s Facility Manager) in April 2008.

Those that participate in CONSTRUCT2009 and The TFM Show will have direct access to thousands of architects, engineers, contractors, specifiers, facility managers, and other key professionals who will be looking for new products, innovative solutions, and the latest in technology for the institutional, industrial, and commercial building industry.

Most of the show’s floor and prime exhibit space will be sold during this initial Space Assignment process. Exhibitors have been quick to go online to select their top booth location choices in order to complete their contract application. “For the best placement on the show floor, the early bird space rates, and ample time to prepare, exhibitors are anxious to beat the August 21st deadline for the initial booth space allocation,” says Jayne Dalton, show manager.

The CSI Show is now CONSTRUCT and will be co-located with The TFM Show, both owned and produced by Hanley Wood. The event will take place June 17-19, 2009 at the Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis, in conjunction with the 53rd CSI Annual Convention. Online Attendee registration opens early February 2009.
