Kimball Office Recognized By EPA

The furniture company, in conjunction with its parent company Kimball International, has achieved certification as a SmartWay Partner by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The company’s score meets or exceeds the highest published score in the SmartWay program, and represents the continuously high level of operation by the Kimball fleet, including:
* Saving significant amounts of diesel fuel
* Reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 26.3%
* Cutting particulate matter by 22.5%
* Decreasing nitrogen oxides by 26%

“The EPA SmartWay program is a very rigorous evaluation. To accomplish this certification and with such a high score speaks volumes about the hard work and commitment of our logistics team in implementing sustainable practices over the years,” said Jeff Fenwick, vice president/general manager, Kimball Office.

The SmartWay Transport Partnership is a collaborative voluntary program between the EPA and the freight industry to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gases and air pollution.
