Question Of The Week: What Works For Water Conservation?

Posted on:

logo-q-of-the-weekA report just released from researchers from UC San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography and the U.S. Geological Survey has revealed that over the past 18 months, drought conditions have depleted 63 trillion gallons of water across the Western U.S. The study, which aimed to document how parched conditions are altering the landscape, found that the loss of groundwater, as well as surface water such as reservoirs, has lifted the Earth’s crust in some areas an average of one-sixth of an inch since 2013.

Whether or not your facilities are located in the regions studied by the report, water shortages and quality are an important facility management issue. Are you evaluating or implementing how to reduce water use in your facilities? Do you have best practices and successes to share?
