NEW PRODUCT FLASH: Curl-Lok Door from DBCI

Posted on:

DBCI, a designer and manufacturer of commercial-grade steel roll-up doors based in Douglasville, GA, recently introduced its Curl-Lok door. These doors are constructed out of removable panels featuring engineered curls along the edges that lock into place instead of seaming together.new product flash

With this interlocking design, Curl-Lok panels are rolled into place without additional machinery or specialty tooling. This is the first rolling sheet door that can be repaired on-site without any specialty tools.

The interlocking panels mean that if one or more panels become damaged, the facility does not have to replace the entire door. Rather, the damaged panel(s) can be changed out on-site. And shipping the panels for the repair work (instead of an entire door) reduces associated freight costs. If desired, facility managers can keep replacement panels on-site to virtually eliminate downtime.curl-lok door

Curl-Lok is the result of several years of development and testing. “DBCI is a company that lives and breathes innovation,” says Bray Allen, R&D at the company. “We realized that one component of the rolling sheet door our industry has taken for granted is the curtain itself. We saw that as an opportunity. The result is an efficient and dependable door unlike anything else in its category.” DBCI partnered with The Bradbury Group of Moundridge, KS to develop a manufacturing process for the patented Curl-Lok panels.
