The new Alerton
Ascent Building Management System combines the industry standard BACnet protocol and Tridium’s Niagara Framework in a single controller for effective integration of multiple facility systems. This product suite is focused on the monitoring and control of HVAC systems, while offering an open protocol for integration with other facility systems, including lighting; security/access control; fire and life safety; elevators and escalators; irrigation; and specialized needs such as emergency and critical systems monitoring in hospitals.
In creating the Ascent line, Alerton kept end-user needs top of mind. Integrating BACnet capability with Tridium Niagara Framework within one controller provides the ability to monitor and control numerous building systems from one platform. It can be used in a single facility or in a campus setting
Ascent is comprised of three products designed from the ground up: the Ascent Microset 4 wall sensor; the Ascent Control Module global controller; and the Ascent Compass software.
Features of the Ascent Microset 4 wall sensor include: a touch interface similar to smart phones; LED lights that show sensor status; and easy to understand icons related to environmental conditions and building systems status. The Ascent Control Module is the global controller that runs NiagaraAX and Alerton BACtalk simultaneously; it enables extensive integration capability to any BACnet interface. The third element of this system is Ascent Compass software. The software features an intuitive 3D graphical operator interface. Its HTML 5 format allows users to view web content on a range of desktop computers and tablets without using third-party plug-ins.
